I downloaded 8 planes from Xplane.com which were recommended in the Xplane 11 manual and installed them into the aircraft folder. None of them appear in the plane configuration. Any ideas?

Hum...  I just purchased Colimata's FA18 F super Hornet and zipped it into the AIRCRAFT folder and it works.  Not sure what aircrafts on the Xplane.com sight your talking about but I am thinking there has to be something right under our nose here.  It might be the plugins?  There is something about making sure you have all the plug ins there too but I haven't really tried loading anything else. Are you talking about the .org store? The xplane store?

Thanks for the reply. In the X-Plane 11 setting up X-Plane 11 guide the writer, Randy from X-Plane.com, gives links to 8 different aircraft that are free downloads, most of them from Xplane.com. These are ones that, I would imagine,  were originally designed for X-Plane 10. Here are the links to 5 of them:

Now, about those free aircraft...

You want to get the most out of X-Plane. A big part of doing so is having lots of aircraft that you love to fly. So, use the following links to download 5 awesome models!

Hum...I went with the Sbach 300, and it didn't show up on my end either.

Better ask... Randy? is it?

Not to sure why it didn't show. I bet it is a simple reason though.  But I removed it since it didn't work for the moment. If you find out why can you let me know. I still have the zip file and I would like to try that sporter plane again. Let me know.. that's interesting... I left a message on that guys machine via phone. If I actually get a chance to talk to him I will run that by him too.  Hey are you still on the original location air field that Xplane 11 starts off with?  I chose another air field and I can't get back to the one that was first here when I installed it.  I want to go back there...  LOL  ;p)

Do you know that location title by any chance?

Mark, the original airport is Seattle. I will try Randy and see what happens.

Seattle.  Man the only "Seattle I can find is a helo pad in a neighborhood. What's the exact title of this.. Pretty please..

I then tried looking at Washington but I cannot tell exactly where that original location is.

What's it titled.  It's not just "seattle" is it?

;p)))))))))))   ;p()

Well.. I got off the phone with Randy:

1. If your plane doesn't show up in the Xplane 11 after you install it in the Xplane 11 aircraft folder. According to Randy, that means your aircraft is too old for Xplane 11. That's what he told me.

2. He also said that airport I am looking for is KSEA

So now I got to go figure that one out. He also mentioned that it took approximately 5 years to develop Xplane 10 so he figured that maybe another 5 years and Xplane 12 will land after 11!?

By then we will all need to upgrade our PCs no doubt.

I don't understand the answer. The IL 96 400 is released on January 6, 2014 and presented for free download today. So I presume the aircraft cannot be to old, and the answer of Randy must be incomplete or incorrect. What is the solution?

The aircraft and scenery from here are compatible with both the demo version of X-Plane and the full version of X-Plane 10 Global.

"Demo version of Xplane and Full version of Xplane 10"

But not Xplane 11 Global full beta?

It does not work with X-Plane 11 (beta). I have checked Icon A5.
