I have the same issue, it reports it cant download from cdn.x-plane.com. I actually had a running install and the update seemed to have overwritten some files that broke my install. I now try the last 20 hours to download without success. I think there might be an issue with the cdn.x-plane.com server. I tried other downloads such as CentOS 7 as a test which worked fine. So the issue is not on my side, it's remote.
I am located in the US east coast.
