Hi,

We are  trying to build a simulation where many aircrafts are simulated and they all operate in the same airspace but are independant of each other, Would XPLane be a good candidate for this? Do you have an API that we could use to dialog with Xplane in order to get/set the position, velocity and so forth of each aircraft?

Best regards

Hi Mathieu,

X-Plane has the capability to add up to 19 AI controlled aircraft. The only limitation on these aircraft is that if you use more than one of the same type of aircraft (5 737s for example) they must all have the same livery, so it can be a little hard to tell them apart visually.

If this sounds like a feature you can use, I'd encourage you to download the free demo here. There is a 15 minute flight time limit, and scenery is limited to KSEA, but all other features will function exactly the same as the full simulator. The instructions folder in the installed X-Plane folder has additional documents on how to communicate with X-Plane via UDP, datarefs, etc.
