My application uses X-plane to represent the view from a camera with high zoom levels. Due to the z-buffer resolution constraints inherit with the Projection matrix used by Xplane based on its default near and far clip distances, objects in the distance can z-fight as the view moves around. I was wondering if there is a tweakable parameter somewhere in Xplane that directly or indirectly affects the near clip distance used for rendering. Altering the far clip distance indirectly using the visibility settings does not provide the level of improvement of Z-buffer resolution that is necessary. Also, altering the clip distances in a plugin does not seem to be an option as it appears (understandably) that Xplane pushes and pops the Projection matrix around calls to plugins.
