Hello

I already X-Plane 10 running on my 2012 iMac, just purchase X-Plane 11 and I would like to know what the Mac specs for the best resolution, details and simulator performance would be?

Does X-Plane benefit from a computer having a discrete high-end graphics card?

Does it work better with gaming card or workstation card.

Does more RAM help. MAX-MIN

Does faster processor help i7 vs i5

Thanks

Oh I ask because I plan on buying a new iMac soon and would like to know if getting the iMac 27" with discrete graphics be a benefit? It will be an i7 Quad , with 16GGB RAM and 1TB SSD.

Thanks

As Matt suggested, please check out the system requirements before buying a new computer. In general, a discrete GPU will always be better.

While the X-Plane team uses Mac computers to work on X-Plane, in all honesty I would recommend purchasing Windows computers if you're already in the market. This is simply because you can get a much nicer graphics card for the same amount of money you would pay for a Mac computer, and then you can even upgrade the CPU or GPU separately in a year or more if you have a little extra money to spend. Macs are a single unit and cost thousands of dollars to upgrade to new ones.
