Menu bar on MacBook Pro won't let me select plugins

Hi guys, I just downloaded Xplane 11 coming over from 10 on my MacBook Pro. I had no problems running 10 and haven't had any problems running 11 in medium to low graphics. However, when I hover over the menu bar (trying to connect to vatsim) I cannot select anything. I see the drop down menus but it won't let me click anything and then it disappears. Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to connect to Vatsim. Otherwise, single player works fine but I can't use the menu bar at all.

Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), 2.7 GHz Intel core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536MB.

The first thing to check is the frame rate. If it is too low, you may notice delayed response to mouse clicks which can look like the menu isn't reacting. You can display the frame rate by going to Settings > Data Output > then check the first box on the first line. Make sure it is at least 20 under f-act.
