X-plane 10 disc#1,10.42 (64 bit) inserted; program is advising "No projector key found"

This is a pretty vague description, so my best guess is to try removing the preferences. When you start X-Plane again it recreates default preferences. It sounds like an option may have gotten turned on unintentionally.
