Has X-Plane APIs that you can call from a development language?

Hi,

Do you have API that would allow a software developer to:

• Fetch data from an X-Plane simulation, maybe export it to a file?
• From code (C++, C, Python, any language) to call API and push data to X-Plane to create a simulation?
