Here is a photo of x-plane when I try to install it onto my computer. I have no clue what it is.

Oh, that looks weird. I am no expert on that, but it could be that X-plane 8 is not supported by your operating system anymore. X-Plane 8 is TWO generations behind the current version (X-Plane 10).

I don´t think that Laminar Research supports X-Plane 8 anymore, and I have no clue how you get that picture.

It looks like interface.png file form from Contents\Resources folder of your X-Plane Disc 1. Just run the installer on your DVD 1 disc. It should install X-Plane onto your dekstop by default.

You can also try run installer app as an administrator. Locate the program that you want to run. Right-click the application’s shortcut, and then click Run as Administrator.
