Click/drag for L/R fuel control in default 737-800 is highly unresponsive.

Question

I am finding it incredibly difficult to adjust the L/R fuel control in the default 737-800. When I click on either control lever, I am only able to drag the lever up/down about a 1/4 inch at a time. Is it possible to map these controls to a Saitek throttle quadrant?

No controls for fuel appear in the drop down list for axes so you will  not be able to assign it to an axis.
