Is Xplane a good idea for cockpit builders.

Question

Is Xplane compatible with commercial cockpit modules such as Open Cocpits etc. Planning to buy/build a complete b-737-800 cockpit. I find lots of information on FsX an Prepare3D but not so much on Xplane.

As well as the X-Plane Global DVD set. The professional license comes with wide-angle and spherical projection capabilities.
