Map display only showing a limited area as a tile

Question

The X Plane map is only displaying a limited area around where my plane is located. This is displayed as a tile with a rectangular border and I can only zoom out and scroll within the tile.

The map only includes the area that has been loaded as scenery, it is not designed to be the entire world map.
