Hi there,

After I boot up my X-plane 10, I begin to prep for a flight from LA to San Francisco in the Flight Factor 777. Right before I reach my top of descent into San Francisco, my computer suddenly switches off and proceeds to reboot itself. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it does and other times, it doesn't and I get a BSOD. On Sunday 3/6/16, I got 3 BSOD's on the same day plus a couple more before. When I checked me events logs, it showed that :

I ran my antivirus software (McAfee and Avast Free) but nothing came up :(

I don't know what this is but when I first got X-plane 10, my CPU was always overheating for 8 or 12 times cuz I was using the stock Intel cooler. Maybe me CPU got damaged in the process? Even after I got a brand new cpu cooler and a new graphics card and a new psu, I still sometimes get errors? I will be getting Windows 10 this upcoming weekend

My PSU is a Logsyis 650 watt (I've heard it is unreliable). Could another issue be that the system is suddenly losing power?

Thanks

Rishi

Hi Rishi,

I am not able to comment on why your system crashes.

When I was researching on what specs were needed for my new Flight sim PC, I found various comments, whether they were youtube or flight sim forums, on the size of the power supply.  Some graphics cards have a power consumption of 650 watts.  I ended up installing an 850 watt unit.  At this stage the PC has not been fully stretched to its limits with additional software addons to ascertain if the power supply will be suitable.  The CPU should have good cooling.  The ultimate is a water cooled unit.  Your case should have additional cooling fans as well.  The ambient temperature in the room you are running your PC in should be in low 20 degrees centigrade.  There are various youtube videos on this subject

When purchasing my new unit I specified Win 7 Professional as the operating system.  Win 8.1 was available at that time as the stock standard issue..  I have no intention of changing to Win 10.

Hope you find an additional solution to your problem.
