ATC works but no other internal or external sounds   did a completely clean install and no change.  log is below  

thoughts?

Hi, can you attach a screenshot of your x-plane 11 sound settings?

I’ll work on the screenshot, but all sounds are full right volume and the sound checkbox is on.

double checked openal install and looks fine  only sounds i have in xplane is atc, which works fine

Can you try again to reset you installation,  by deleting your ...X-Plane 11/Output/Preferences folder?
Do you confirm you have no additional plugin? Third party plugins can have side effects.

tried deleting preferences folder  and also doing a clean new install with nothing nut defaults and same result  

anyone in linux getting same result?

solved.  recent linux uodates changed openal deaults  make sure openal set to pulse and pulse has correct hardware defaults.  back to normal now

Mike,

Apparently the problem is the "X-Plane 11\Output\Preferences" folder, must be corrupt for some reason.

I removed the entire file, saved it in a temp folder on the desktop, and launched the game again to auto-create a new "Preferences" folder > Sounds are working fine!
Once you launch again, your x plane program, will start up with the original learning tutorial at the beginning of install, but no files are lost anywhere in the program.

Worked fine for me.
