Question

Am I able to use VR on Mac?

I purchased the digital edition for Mac. Am I allowed to run in windows also, or do I have to buy another one?

VR on Mac is not supported at this time. If you set up a dual boot computer, you can use the same digital download key to install X-Plane on both OSes. As long as you are only using one copy at a time, you only need one key.
