DHC-6-300 Twin Otter slows/lags X-Plane 11 to unresponsive

Question

I downloaded the Twin Otter DHC-6-300 (US$30) and British Antarctic Survey Livery (free). When running, the programme lasts mere seconds before lagging and I have to close Xplane 11 and restart the programme to continue. Also the right engine keeps cutting-out mid flight (every 30s to 1minute).

Do you see these issues with any of the default aircraft? If not, it's possible the payware aircraft is not super optimized and is much more taxing on your computer. You can try adjusting your rendering settings while using it to see if that helps. You will probably need to ask its developer about the engine cut out (as long as all failures are turned off to rule that out).
