Why does clicking on the upper right corner (windowed icon) of a pop out window destroy the aircraft rendering?

On both a single or a double monitor setup I click on the 530 GPS in the Cessna 172. The GPS pops out as expected and the window and the underlying screen look fine. I can move the pop out window around the screen and resize it ok. When I click the icon in the upper right corner of the pop out, the "windowed" setting, the window and the entire screen go blank for 5-10 seconds, then the GPS window reappears looking correct, but the airplane rendering is a mess. The scenery outside of the airplane is ok. The airplane itself is barely recognizable.  What happened? I have an AMD Ryzen 2400G running at 3600Mhz, 16 gigabytes of DDR4 at 3200 Mhz, and the APU GFX at 1602 Mhz. Screen resolution is 1920x1080.

I do not see this behavior on my machine, and we haven't heard any other reports of this. 

First, you should remove all add ons and see if it still happens. If it does, file a bug report with your log so we have info on your system & hardware. Include a zipped copy of your preferences. Include the exact steps taken that cause it to happen.

jroberts, I deleted all *.prf files in the output\preferences folder except Calibration, Joystick Settings, and Keys. After rebooting I ran X-plane 11.25, "new flight", and the pop-out windowing problem was solved. I changed some Graphics settings such as visual effects, and windowing still worked fine. I exited X-Plane a couple of times, went back in and flew briefly, and the pop-out windows behaved correctly each time.

I'm considering this fixed.  I still have the *.prf files from when the windowing problem existed (saved outside of X-plane) if you would ever like to see them.

Yes, you can send a bug report with the old, bad prefs attached and we will take a look to see if we can reproduce it in our lab as well.
