Can I plug my laptop to a projector and have x plane run on both screens?

If this is possible, can the projector display the outside views, and my macbook display the controls?

Unless you are running more than one copy of X-Plane 10 on more than one computer, the only two views you can display on more than one monitor or screen is the flight (such as the cockpit or HUD view) and the IOS screen (the local map screen with additional controls).
