I've just updated the Steam client this morning (9 nov 2018) on my iMac (10.10.5) and X-plane won't start anymore. Clues?

Problem was on OSX 10.10.5 Yosemite. After many attempts and re-installments, I was forced to update to Mojave. This allowed me to open Steam again, but the new OSX slowed down overall performances dramatically.

Hi - Are you referring to the Steam software itself? I'm afraid that we cannot help too much on that. Steam support would probably be your best bet!

Already tried their trouble-shooting which lead me to this q&a.

Hi xrotors,

I am not from Laminar Research (LR) like Thomson; just a flight simmer.

The steam version of X-Plane is a 3rd party hybrid taking a commercial advantage of the development work by LR.  There is no connection of any type between LR and steam.

You are in the wrong forum and running a Mac system. There have been many comments in this forum in recent times where Mac users have updated their operating system and are experiencing problems.  Serious flight simmers are running Windows

Good luck
