X-Plane 11 (Version: 11.05) - Trying to update to 11.26r2 - "Read only" and "Access denied" errors messages

Hello Everyone,

First of all, let me introduce myself. I am Rubén Castro, a newcomer in flightsim world. I am pleased to meet you all.

I've installed X-Plane 11 on my desktop: it is working well.

X-Plane 11 is currently located in C:/Users/Rubén/Desktop/X-Plane11/

I am facing some technical problems while trying to update to 11.26R2

Each time, I try to update it, the process gets interrupted and the installer gives me the following message (rough translation from french...):

"

The installation program could not install or update X-Plane. An error occurred while creating new folders. Verify that the directory you are using is not read-only. Error: Access denied Installation directory: C: \ Users / Rubén / Desktop / X-Plane 11 Installation path: C: \ Users / Rubén"

I already unticked "read only" box in the destination files, without success...."

Can someone be of any help ? Thanks very much in advance.

The problem has been solved: I've removed X-Plane 11 and resinstalled it without specifying any specific location to the file.

X-Plane 11 is now on my Desktop and updating installer is now working 100 %.
