I am a new Simer Have x-plane 11. The Scenery download for Seattle looks less detailed than the video of the software. What up wit DAT?.I had no idea everything I would want would be an add on but then to get it and it not to look like the ad. is disappointing. Am I doing something wrong or are my expectations to high.

I also suck REAL BAD when it comes to understanding computers. And have OFS...(Old Farts Syndrome)

Hi Ricky123

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but could you please advise the following:-

1. What is the name of the Seattle scenery file and where did you purchase it from?

2. Is the Seattle scenery file listed in the X-Plane 11\Custom Scenery Folder? Please click on the following link to show you how to find this:-

http://questions.x-plane.com/?qa=blob&qa_blobid=8634638892619426190

3. Can you please upload a copy of the X-Plane 11\Customer Scenery\scenery_packs.ini file, as shown on the above link?

If your not sure how to do this, please let me know and I will send you further instructions?

Regards

Wow... I am going to study what you sent.
I bought Seattle city and airports off of the X plane store.
I am going to look and study the link you sent. because I don't understand it. I am slow but willing to learn
Thanks
Rick
Update.... my file folders don't look at all like yours. Disk C is not listed but I think I got there.
and my file folders show my downloads but much diff. than yours.

Another simple reason could be due to your own Graphics Settings.  Settings such as Number of World Objects can have a significant impact on what you actually get out of downloaded scenery.  The promo video was most likely made with its settings on very high.

Then the missing sceneries could be due to incorrect order of scenery loading.  There are two text files of interest: 1) Scenery_packs.ini which describes loading order, 2) Log.txt (in X-Plane root folder) which could indicate any loading error.  The next step is to follow Greengolfer’s advice above.

Meanwhile, perhaps you’d want to take a look at this message chain.  It explains the correct order of layering different scenery classes, with examples.
