my ch yoke need help please with the calabrating

Hi i got xplane 11 today i am having problems calabrating my ch yoke i did it but it is not right when i  move my throttle full the engine stops and i am not getting the speed to take of can you get away with out calabrating i have not had this problem with p3d  i do not know if any one can help me please regards stewart

Hi Stewart,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

Just because your yoke works in another flight sim package does not guarantee it will work in X-Plane.

Firstly, calibrating and configuring the yoke within your PC operating system will not work.  So, forget that idea.

Secondly, any software you have in relation to the yoke and has been installed on your PC has to be totally removed using a good quality uninstaller program.  No remnant files to be left on your machine.

Thirdly, dump the DVD or disks for the yoke software in the bin.  Not needed for X-Plane.

Fourthly the installation and calibration of the yoke has to be done through X-Plane.  No other way.  Have a look at the following link found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU_TuALAlJk  Although the details refer to Saitek (now Logitech) products follow the concept and methodology for a successful installation.  

In relation to your specific problem you may have to tick the "reverse" button.  I suspect this is your problem. The referenced video mentions and shows you what and how to do it.

Thanks Glenn for your video i have found my problem now on my yoke when i move the right lever the middle one moves and move the middle one the right one moves can you change this in the settings so it works correct as in your video i did callibrate like you said befor i see your video and thanks for your help regards stewart

Thanks Glenn you where a great help thanks can i ask you a question i have fswidgets map for xplane 11  i had it on my desk top and i could not install it there so i moved xplane 11  into programe files as it is 64 bit programe and not into programe files  (x86) and i was able to install my map and it worked will this be ok where i put xplane .

also i have a  arosoft airport where should i put that and also a few aircraft to  install into Xplane 11

i hope i am not to much of a pain asking you Glenn and i am happy now that i am flying in xplane 11  and it was all down to you my friend  regards stewart

If I can offer some help or advice I am only too pleased to do so.

The package you are asking about I have no knowledge of so I cannot offer any advice.

X-Plane is designed to be setup as a standalone package either on the desktop, a dedicated drive or a dedicated directory on your "C" drive.  Earlier in this forum, jroberts (Laminar Research forum respondent) has made it quite clear, and memory tells me others have also made the same comment X-Plane should not be installed in either of the directories you have currently listed.  You are lucky X-Plane works.  It shouldn't.
