I unzip the file (not from x-plane.org) and drag it to the open aircraft folder but it does not add to the livery.

Hi dickandanita,

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

Firstly have a look at the following link from Michael Brown found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4RjIxrhkXs   Michael runs a business that builds PCs predominantly for X-Plane within the USA.  Laminar Research recommends this business (in the X-Plane manual) as the preferred supplier of PCs within the USA.

If Michael's information is of no help then attach your log.txt file so others with a greater knowledge base than me may be able to see your problem.  Make sure it is not the Installer log.txt file

Hope the reference to Michael does solve your problem.

Hi dickandanita

I'm also not with Laminar Research, just another simmer from the UK and I hope that you have investigated further, the advice given by my colleague Glenn down under.

From my point of view however, I would be grateful for a bit more information as I'm a tad confused by your original post. Specifically, what is meant by "it does not add to the livery"?

When you unzip an aircraft file into the C:\X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Laminar Research or C:\X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Extra Aircraft folders, that in itself should be enough for it to be recognised when your run the X-Plane 11 application.

Whether the aircraft has just a default livery or a number of liveries to choose from, will be wholly dependent on which aircraft you are trying to install?

Please advise?

Hi guys i know i comming in quite late, but im also having this problem.

When I download a free aircraft from xplane.org I unzip the file and extract it to Aircraft and then extra aircrafts, but when i go in to the game itself the aircraft isn't there. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the acf file not in the downloaded aircraft itself, cause until now i only have an a380 that works, and in that file there is an acf file.
