Hi rmv1030,

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder.

My assumption is "soft clouds: is a third party add-on feature.  I have not seen anything or heard  anything about this program or file.  My suggestion would be to delete this 3rd party software.

Once done then run the X-Plane Installer file again.  By doing so, files  that have been corrupted or are missing from the original installation will be replaced and or installed.  This should give you a "clean skin" installation.  Then try starting X-Plane again.

If it runs without a problem then install your "soft clouds" software and then test the added software.  If X-plane runs then all should be "OK' .  If not then the added software is the cause of your problem.

Provided you are running the genuine, original and official version of X-Plane rather than the 3rd party hybrid modified version of X-Plane then attach your log.txt file as it may provide other additional information.

To attach the file follow the advice provided in the following link found at https://questions.x-plane.com/?qa=blob&qa_blobid=17830136656522860642

Good luck.

Glenn

simply update x-plane with the web-installer. It will ask you whether you want the bitmap.
