Hello,

We recently bought x-plane license for one of our customers in Israel.

The customer is a government entity and they do not have internet connection.

Can they run the simulator without activating it online.

If they have the DVD set, yes, they can run it out of demo mode without being connected to the internet. If they are only trying to use the digital download version, no, they will need to re-authorize their code every week or so.

So if you want to use X-Plane without the internet you will need the DVD copy.

Hi anyware,

In setting up/purchasing X-plane I acquired the DVD set.  The disc set (DVD) version requires disc 1 to be installed in the dvd drive to be able to run the program efectively.  To ensure your disc set remains in top condition ie "damage free"purchase the USB key found at http://www.x-plane.com/store/desktop/x-plane_10_home-use_usb_key/   Obviously there will be freight charges as well.  I have the unit and have it permanently installed on one of my USB ports.

For the unit to be effective in its operation additional software has to be downloaded and installed.  Details are shown in green on the last line of the web page referenced above.

I find the usb key works extremely well and I don't have to fiddle with disc 1 to run x-plane.

Hope this also helps

Glenn
