The X plane demo came up very nicely and is beautiful. However I can't figure out how to get the plane to move even following the instructions about the little white box on the dashboard.

Also I can't find any controls for throttle etc. even though all the instruments are very visible.

I will by the disc and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the help.

You can try the X-Plane 9 demo. It is generally friendlier to older systems. Get the v9 installer here.

It seemed to work but I could not get demo plane to move.

X-Plane doesn't include tutorials and has a pretty steep learning curve for new users. You might want to check out the manual to get started, or take a look at these default keys.
