I only see water around the airport at KLAX and am missing file +30-120/+33-120 dsf.

If you are seeing "water world" it could be that scenery is not installed, or that X-Plane is running in demo mode. The demo only has scenery at KSEA. If you are trying to upgrade a demo to the full sim, please make sure you're using the latest installer, and I'd suggest you remove any KLAX-area scenery first then re-install it.
