Why won't ATC provide Desecent/landing Vectors?

I filed my flight plan from KLAS to KLAX. Got clearance to take off. I responded to ATC and took off using X-Plane 10 digital download. Once I got to Los Angeles I never heard from ATC. I clicked on and hit my keyboard enter key to select the LA Tower recommended radio frequencies and received no reply from ATC. What am I doing wrong or not doing? X-Plane 9 seemed easier to use than -Plane 10.

Are you using the Nearby ATC window to tune your frequencies? If you want to use pop up vectors with KLAX ATC, I believe you will need to refile your flight plan while en route and leave the starting location blank.
