X-Plane wont start

Question

I just bought x-plane through steam and Im trying to launch it for the first time and it freezes right at startup. I just downloaded and installed it last night, fresh install and all my hardware drivers are up to date. Im running windows 7 and x-plane version 10.50. This is where it freezes.

It hangs here for a couple minutes and then crashes. Any help would be appreciated.
