X-Plane 10.5(64-bit) slow loading after initial install

Question

Installed X-Plane 10 Global Edition form the 8DVDs I have. Software appears to install fine, no errors during install and updates just fine as well. However, upon trying to open Xplane.exe for the first time, the loading screen appears and at the bottom starts a small progress before changing to (Not Responding). I have let this run for nearly 5 hours now, and it's still using 10-15% of the CPU in Task Manager and about 2GB of my RAM. How long will this process take or should I expect it to take?

I will list the machine specs below, but I'd like to state that every other program/game/performance test I've thrown at this machine has handled it without issue, but X-Plane will not cooperate so far.

PC Specs:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
i7-6700k 4.0Ghz
Gigabyte Z170-HD3 motherboard
8GB DDR4 RAM
Samsung 500GB SSD
ASUS Strix GTX 970 Graphics Card running latest NVIDIA drivers(installed 9/14/2016)

 

Update: I re-installed the software without updating, this landed me on 10.32, and that loaded within 5 minutes and is working wonderfully. Is my issue potentially to do with 10.50? if so, how can I update to just the most stable version? and what version is that?

I have the same dilemma as yours, it took me like more than 5 hours waiting for the progress but to no avail. I slept through the whole process and when I woke up, it still is loading. I keep on refreshing it and when it gets to almost 80 percent, the error sinks in. I can't deal with this right now as I have some scheduled review in this Writeversity.com review. Looking into their site if their service is reliable or not.

We've had other reports of X-Plane 10.50 not responding on Windows. If you updated to 10.50 (the latest) and also had problems, I would stick with 10.35 for now. We're hoping to have 10.51 patch out soon.

If this is an issue, why is 10.50 still being sold? I purchased and installed the digital version last night (9/29/16). Launched the X-Plane executable around 10AM this morning. It is 4:04PM and still has not loaded. It looks like it is loading, because I see the loading indicator increasing and the verbiage of what is loading changes, but it is moving at a snail's pace.
