I can't hear any engine sounds in x-plane 10 32 bit or 64 bit, only a few planes, can you please help?

I run x-plane 10 and load up my plane and i don't hear any sounds, no engine nothing. I thought it would be my speakers but i checked them and there all on and volume is all the way up. Im running 10.50, do you think it might be because i didn't update to 10.51?

X-Plane 10 only has sounds for the aircraft you are currently using. You will not hear any sounds from other aircraft at the airport, cars, etc.
