Hello there, I've just downloaded the installer and X-Plane 10 demo, the install completed but the demo will not start and I just keep getting ' X-Plane is not responding.

How do I get this game to run ?

Thanks.....

We have heard about this from a few Windows users. If this happens:

  1. When X-Plane freezes or stops responding, note what the message is above the loading bar.
  2. Open the Task Manager. (Ctr + alt + delete will bring up a list with this option.)
  3. Find the X-Plane program in the list.
  4. Right click on it and pick the option to "create dump file"
  5. When it's done, the pop up will list the file location.
  6. Navigate to the file location in the file explorer window. (It's possible one of the folders in the file path will be hidden. Follow directions here to show hidden files, if needed.)
  7. Compress the dump file and send it to us on the bug reporter.
  8. Run & quit Airfoil Maker & then include a copy of your log.txt from the main X-Plane folder.

Dump files are very large so you may need to upload it to a service like Google Drive or Dropbox, then use the share link.

You say "We have heard about this from a few Windows users. If this happens" ?

It makes it sounds as though Windows is to blame ? Considering that Windows is still probably the most used OS on most PC's worldwide I find it difficult to believe that you are aware of this problem but haven't been able to sort it out.

Thank you for your response but I don't have the time or inclination to run all those checks that you suggest so it will be easier for me to uninstall X-Plane and buy a copy of P3D instead.

Thank you.
