Patience and open-mindedness is key, my friend! Please do not jump to conclusions so quickly. Why judge a simulator so harshly that you haven't even been able to try yet?
As a long time FSX and X-Plane 10 user, I assure you that when it comes to flying aircraft, X-Plane takes the prize. X-Plane simulates aircraft much more accurately and realistically than FSX, so I wouldn't call it a "piece of S***." if you will. I am not affiliated with Laminar Research, so I am not obligated to say this, but having extensive experience using both flight simulators, I assure you that if you give X-Plane patience and some devotion, you can get a lot more out of it than FSX.
So, if you would reconsider, I would be happy to try and assist with your loading issue. To do so, I would like a little more information, so I need you to go into your main "X-Plane 10" folder (it should be located on your desktop), and look for a file called log.txt. Please upload that file to your post so I (or someone else) can have a look at it. Thank you.
