I just updated my Mac Pro tower (mid 2010) operating system from 10.6.8 to 10.11 and migrated X-Plane 10.51r2 onto that new 10.11 hard drive. Everything is working perfectly, as far as I can tell, except that when I use my shift-F3 and F4 keys, the Mac functions for those keys are still operating, moving my open windows and opening the Mac Dashboard, instead of opening, say, the aircraft doors assigned to operation/slider_03 and _04.  I already unchecked everything within the System Preferences > Keyboards >Keyboard AND Shortcuts menus. The keys are assigned correctly in X-Plane's Joystick & Equipment > Keys. So why would these function keys not work in X-Plane now when they were before?  Log.txt attached.  Thanks for any help.

Try removing all plugins to see if that helps. You can also try restoring all default preferences by moving, renaming, or deleting the entire preferences folder. Or check to see if the keys are accidentally assigned to more than one command.

I just tried the XP11 beta demo (it having fresh preferences) and the same thing is happening. Is anyone else seeing the shift-F3 and shift-F4 keys stuck in Mac 10.11 key commands when using XP 10.51 or 11?

Found the problem. In 10.11's System Preferences>Keyboard, the box must be checked in order to disable the system function keys and allow XP's Fn commands to work - the opposite of what is stated. I had an Apple tech confirm this and submit a bug report.Function Key setup in Mac 10.11 for XP10 & 11
