Our aeroclub's X-Plane 11 simulator may be used in any of these configuration examples depending on the purpose:

  •  6 screens in a 215º view,
  •  4 with a 140º view and an instructor station
  •  2 with a FOV of 60º plus an instructor station and 2 screens for instrument panel views

There seems to be no way to save different configurations of the screens, which means tedious set-up each time the simulator is used for a different purpose.  A possibility to save and load screen configurations would be welcome.

I would recommend having separate preference folders for each configuration. Any time you wanted to switch the configuration, rename the preferences folder to just "preferences" and X-Plane will use it.

You could try just having the individual .prf files (X-Plane Screen Res.prf for example), but there may be unexpected settings saved in different files. They are not always broken out clearly.

Thanks, that will solve it temporarily!
