XP 10 Installer quits when loading new scenery

Question

I am trying to load the scenery for my new location.  XP10.51 takes me to the installer, I enter the product key, select the scenery panes, press continue, and nada--the installer just dies.  I bought the XP10/XP11 product key  after misplacing Disk 1 of XP10--have used the dongle for several years.  XP10 runs just fine on my Mac under 10.11.6. But am completely befuddled by the XP Installer (3.40r3) behavior.  XP11 will take days to download--I am at the end of 512K satellite connection.  Which is why getting XP10 scenery is key.  Ideas?

Well, after a bit of worry I discovered that the issue was solved by updating to the newest version of the XP10 installer.  Thanks to all for the assist to a first time poster--it all worked so well until last week!~

By default, X‑Plane will install to the Desktop. Though it can be installed elsewhere (by clicking the Change Destination button), it is strongly recommended that it be placed on the Desktop so that the folder can be found in the future, and so it has correct permission settings.
Scenery can be added or removed at any point in the future by re-running the installer. Insert Disc 1 if you have the DVD set, but if you are using a digital download product key, X‑Plane should remember it. If not, enter your product key when required. When the X-System installer comes up saying “You already have X‑Plane 11 installed on this computer,” click the Add or Remove Scenery button. You can read more about installation of X-Plane here.
