When it's night, and the sun's starting to rise, or it's day and the sun is starting to set, it seems to rise from and set to the center of the earth. the light starts deep in the earth, and comes up, to disappear there again when the night comes.
Don't know why, but it's pretty irritating...
I had this since the first betas, so without  weather programs or special plugins.

Is this fixable or still a bug that you're working on?

I see the same in XP11 11.05r1.

When it becomes dark the sky above the horizon gets darker and darker, but an illuminated area moves from the horizon towards the airplane over the Earth's surface.. In this area the clouds also get illuminated.

This area gets smaller and smaller when the time gets later and at the end, just before complete darkness, the area is just an illuminated spot below the aircraft while the rest of the Earth and horizon are completely dark. So in that way it seems that the sunlight comes from the center of the Earth and not from the horizon.

This behavior makes flying in dusk not very realistic.

Hello Marty,

i'd included 3 screenshots in the question, but maybe they're impossible to read?

normally, when the sun rises, you start to see something at the horizon, and slowly it's starting to get light. when i'm flying,i start to see the light not from the horizon, but from the center of the earth. slowly, the light is raising, and at a certain time, it pops out above the horizon. but this is very unnatural and well... weird...
you should be able to see that in the screenshots, if not, i can include them again, if you want?

the bug report, i haven't filed yet, because i don't really know wether it's a bug, so i was a bit hesitant to do so...

hope this clears things up...

grtz,
