Black screen and sound only after initial x-plane 11 loading screen

Question

When I try to load x-plane 11 I see the initial loading screen but then the screen starts to flash black and then becomes permanently black. I can still hear sound from x-plane and if I hit alt tab I can see the x-plane screen but only as long as i continue to hold alt tab.

My machine is an MSI GT72 laptop with Nvidia 980 gpu and has run X-plane 11 flawlessly until today. All the other programs which I regularly use are working fine ( DCS World, FSX on steam etc etc ). I have not made any significant cha5nges recently and the graphics driver is up to date.

Please send this to [email protected] along with  a copy of your ‘Log.txt’ file, which you’ll find inside of your main X-Plane 10 folder.
