X plane doesn't let me contact atc or file a flight plan

Question

Normally when you hit the enter button it gives you the option to file a flight plan but for me it just comes up with an empty text box

You have networking turned on, possibly multiplayer. When this is enabled, the enter key brings up a chat box instead of ATC.

Go to Settings > Network and use the "Reset Networking Configuration" button to turn all of it off and get ATC contact back.
