windows 10 automatically upgraded and now it says ap cant run, to find a version that runs, contact software publisher.   How do we avoid this in the future, given that windows 10 is garbage, but here to stay.

All published LR apps should be code-signed so that we avoid being labeled "dangerous". I believe when people have encountered this type of problem with the installer, it takes a day or so for Windows antivirus to accept that it is a legitimate program. In the warning window that pops up, it may be possible to click a button or arrow for more "advanced" options that will let you get around the block.
