While loading my X-plane 11 last night, I was informed that there was an update, so I had it install the most recent update 11.10. I then flew around for an hour or so without any issues last night. This morning I tried loading up the game and it crashed during the load up screen, followed by an "crash reporter" form. I tried restarting computer, deleting all downloaded aircraft, preferences, etc -- went through the X-plane 11 installer a bunch of times, deleted all scenery, etc. Nothing has fixed it.

Is there anything else I can do to try and fix this problem? I do enjoy this program and want to continue using it (not to mention it was not free :/ )

Scratch my last post. The same issue has started happening again :(

12DEC17  Installed 'update' to XP-11.  It now crashes immediately on starting.  Straight to crash report.  What a PITA!  I got XP because the FSX became very unstable.  Here I am with an absolutely first class brand new gaming computer and this program just dies. Hell, it doesn't even start after the 'update'.

I'm not a Geekster and don't have a clue about 'shadercache' / logfiles, and stuff.  Besides, I shouldn't have to be doing any of that tinkering under the hood trying to hack my way into a bought and paid for program.

And another point.  You have this forum.  Nice.  OTH, there's not a whisper about any problems/solutions or 'we know, we are workin' on it.... at the XP website.  DEAD AIR!  NADA!  At least a flag somewhere on the page saying Guys, we got a problem. Stand by to standby for a patch!!!  That would be nice.

I will say that XP-11 is excellent and as such, it makes this crashing experience even more annoying.

I would have expected some sort of official communication from Laminar on this issue by now. After sales support is just as important, if not more important, than the product itself. What's the status on resolving this issue Laminar?

Btw, even though my installation of X-Plane starts each time now, when I quit the app it comes up with an error dialogue box stating that the application has crashed. Not a showstopper but annoying.

So I came across a post where someone experienced this same issue in the Beta 1 release. They suggested deleting the contents of the 'Install folder\Output\shadercache' folder (I suggest backing up these files elsewhere first) so I've tried this and successfully started X-Plane a number of times now.

It seems this is the issue, for my installation at least.

That fixed it for me as well.

It seems you have to delete the shadercache before each start in order for this work.

Seems to work for me this way. Hoping for a patch soon.

I had to delete the shadercache folder a couple of times as X-Plane kept on crashing if I didn't, however, strangely enough it now starts up fine each time without having to do this (I've probably started X-Plane successfully at least 20 times now, with reboots in between too). I've done no updates of any kind.

Im getting the same issue with 11.10. The crazy thing is that the log file doesn't give a reason why.... It just says the application crashed.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I deleted (first backed up) the files in the 'Preference's folder, restarted and it worked again. I reconfigured all my settings, yoke etc. and everything was working fine. This morning I started X-Plane again and the same thing happens, it crashes on startup - nothing in the Log file other than the application has crashed.

I hope there's a speedy solution to this.

Im having the exact same problem, one night I did a small flight and then turned off my computer but had to update windows on my laptop. so I did, and when I went to play later the next day my game crashed as soon as i started the game up. (this was in the last x-plane update) ill attach the log.txt file if you wanna take a look at it. some help would be awesome.

I have done this and so far so good.. its working again..

"Go to Output > shadercache and delete the contents of the folder. That will get you flying again."

this fixed it for me.

Scratch what I said.. The simulator now crashes after flying around for a few minutes..

Sigh.... Is there a way to re-load the older version of Xplane??? I never had issues till this new upgrade came out last week.
