I bought X-Plane 11 on steam, but then after installing 11.12 beta update (so that I can access the VR), it asks for a licence key. I don't have a key because Steam provided it.

How do I apply my Steam licence to 11.12 beta so that it doesn't keep running in demo mode?

Hi Andy,

This site forum is for the official X-Plane version created by Laminar Research.

There is no connection between the creators of the Steam version and the official version.  Steam is a 3rd party hybrid taking a commercial advantage of the work done by Laminar Research.

You can't mix and match either version with the other.  Files become corrupted.

You need to contact the Steam forum or the creators of the steam package to solve your problem

By the way, if you want to run VR you need the 11.20 version.  Whenever Laminar Research makes a Beta version available it can be downloaded immediately it is released.  The Steam version will not be released immediately.  They do a catch-up some time later.
