Throttle (F2, F1) does not engage i.e. nothing happens when I press those buttons on keyboard

Question

I am very new to X-Plane.  I purchased it yesterday; F1 and F2 did not work in trial version but I thought that was the limitation of the trial version.  Turns out  I still do not have this functionality.  Also I tired a different keyboard with the same result.  Mouse seems to be working fine (on left, right, up, down - I have not moved any further).

Please help!

Please try resetting to default preferences to see if the key assignments got changed by accident.

Move the preferences folder (found in the Output folder) to the desktop, then restart X‑Plane and default preferences will be restored. If the default preferences do not fix your problem, you can simply replace them with the folder you moved to the desktop and restore your personalized settings.
