I use a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas V2 joystick that works fine with X-Plane, FSX, etc and thus far have avoided purchasing rudder pedals. I have also flown an actual Cessna. I also realize X-plane chooses to be more realistic.

Nonethess when I rev up the engine on the game Cessna my brakes squeal like crazy and I amble all over the runway. Sure I could just practice 150 hours or maybe buy pedals- which I have thus avoided as I am just enjoying the game for nav skills, etc.... I there a lazy old guys fix on the yaw control option to reduce this pretty excessive left pull.

It seems better on a twin of and also the jets which I compared. I just wanted to use the Cessna to start as I get more familiar with the game. I have used FSX since the first one came out! Not a pro- but pretty regularly fly the Lear or 737... on FSX. Thanks for any advise.

X-plane is pretty good in any event. I just do not seems to see any answers to this question.

Thank you. Please know that  I have flown a real Cessna. I also have enjoyed Flight Sims for years. I get it.  Your reply means well. Certainly it quickly gets rid of my question.

I have read an assortment of feed back on this type of question from all sorts of folks on this forum . Most of the comments are meant well and are truly helpful. Others are snooty and some downright hostile and most probably from folks who mistake sims and computer games from real life....This is not a reflection on your comment which is of course, the straight answer. Therein the problem.

My point Is this. One of the benefits of the enduring ,endearing and popular  FSX is that the game allowed people of a wide range of skills and interests to enjoy Flight Simmimg from their perspective. Some folks luse flight Simmimg to practice navigation, others perhaps for landing, take offs...whatever. Others certainly would enjoy mastering the computer flight controls. FSX was able to catch the interest and hearts of a wide array of people and interests and develop an enthusiasm that continues today.  He game created the industry....

X-plane in my judgment is really terrific and with enormous potential. In addition, for those that want the game to replicate real aircraft, the goal maximum reality should be the gold standard. However, if If X-plane is going to win over the larger community it should address the needs and interests of the larger community- or stay niched. Why not have a simple non judgemental option to allow  “auto”control for yaws, etc...and let the  learning pilot adjust as he/she grows.X-Plane's future would be greatly strengthened.

The same thought refers to letting users change pilot voices or plane numbers, or whatever. One of your competitors will get it. It is obvious there is a frustration. One only has to read the forums.

Anyway- I will try to stay with the joy stick some more...and see it I have the patience. Like some, I may need to look for an alternative option that does not retain built in game stoppers.  is more customer focused. The larger market of beginners, and enthusiasts who have little time- may go elsewhere . Please don't dumb down the game. Just allow a few options to let the beginners succeed.

Just my opinion and meant well.

With a single propeller aircraft like the C172 you will need to add right rudder. If your joystick has a twist axis, this is often set to yaw and will work the same way as rudder pedals, although it is not how this would be controlled in a real aircraft.
