ERROR "read only file" and Can't update

Question

For some weird reason, I can´t update my X-Plane anymore. It says there´s something wrong with input/output. And when I enter the Application, I get these weird "Be Adviced" messages. "Be adviced" "Unable to save scenery_scenery.ini" or something like that. Also "read only" files. What do they mean wit that? I really want to play but this isn´t working...

It sounds like the file has gotten set to be read only. We do not recommend installing X-Plane to C: or to Program Files (unless you're using Steam) because it can cause permissions issues later on.

As a last ditch method you can delete the problem files.
