I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.
If you search through previous postings in this forum will see that you can download or install X-Plane as many times as you wish on your PC or you can install on as many computers as you wish provided you run only one copy at any one time.
If you run more than one copy at the same time then you will need additional licences.
In your situation load a copy onto your laptop for "travel use" and provided your PC is unable to run x-plane while away, you will be "legal"
