Does the Reality Expansion Pack for Laminar Cessna 172SP work with X-plane Steam version?

I just bought X-plane 11 on steam for pilot training and I would like to buy the Reality Expansion pack for Laminar Cessna 172SP. The only issue is I don't see the expansion on the steam store. So I was wondering if I could buy the expansion on the X-plane 11 web and will it be compatible or download on the steam version of X-plane 11?

My understanding is that most add ons can be added to a Steam install even if they weren't purchased via Steam, but to be safe I would recommend contacting its developer directly.
