"X-Plane Installer Has Stopped Working - Close The Program"

Question

Windows 7 64 bit, I've disabled the AVAST antivirus.  The installer won't even begin to install (see error msg above).  Have downloaded the zip file twice.  Would love to purchase.

Do you have any other security software active? K9 seems to be a common problem recently. Of course, do not purchase the full sim if it cannot run on your computer yet--the demo will perform exactly the same as the purchased version.
