Hello.

I installed XP10 today from DVDs. Discs 2 & 7 gave me errors.

How can I run an option or something to scan and check for missing/corrupt files and download them to repair my installation, as obviously I cannot do that from the faulty DVDs?

Thanks.

You can double check if was a one-time issue by inserting the problematic disc in the drive and then trying to copy the entire contents of the disc to the desktop. If works, please try re-running the installer and it will check for any issues. (Most likely it's a missing scenery tile, and you may not know which one until you try to enter the area in the simulator.)

If you have additional problems, please contact customer support at [email protected] about replacements or alternatives.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, it seems the files on the disc are the issue, because while did run the *UPDATER* a few times, and it did download and update lots of files (about 2GB), when running the "add/remove scenery" option, it says it will install 3MB, asks me to insert disc 7 but give the error, and twice, so I think it-s probably two tiles that the files are corrupt.

Is there any way to know which ones they are? (the error popup is too fast on the fist and directly does not show the second), and more importantly download them from somewhere?

Errors should be logged in the X-Plane Installer Log.txt I believe. We have a digital download version now but it is an entirely separate product, so I'm not sure that you can just download a few files. Please double check with customer support.

Hi Walterg74,

I have no connection with the author of the information below.

Have a look at he following you tube video by Wycliffe Barrett who is a dedicated X-plane user.  The link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9wubukUlxI

Hope this helps.
