Update X-Plane in STEAM

Question

How do I update my Steam X-Plane 11.26 to 11.30? I know that I can't use the installer so reading the instruction seems that I need to use an installer in Steam but can't find anything.

Moglinaga,

Steam will automatically update your game after 11.30 has a final release.  If you do not want to wait you can opt-in to the Beta program through Steam and it will immediately download the release candidate of 11.30.  Otherwise it will only download final releases of all updates.  Laminar Research / X-Plane have not provided a release date as of yet for 11.30, a lot likely depends on how the testing goes and what bugs are discovered.

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer who does not support the steam version.

You are in the wrong forum.

The steam version of x-plane is a 3rd party hybrid taking a commercial advantage of the development/research work carried out by Laminar Research (LR).  It is not the same product as the  official LR version of X-Plane.  There is no connection between Steam and LR.  The steam version will not "mix" with the LR version of X-Plane.

Any updates provided through the official LR version including Beta versions, are available immediately after release whereas the stem versions are always some time after (another business) the LR releases. Disadvantage of using a hybrid.
